Community Engagement

Relationships play a critical role in how projects unfold, what they produce, and how they live on after completion. We approach community engagement as a way of listening deeply and building meaningful relationships that guide the work. What matters most to us is to ensure that the ways we work respond to the needs, values, and aspirations of you, and your community.

We help you understand the people, place, and context that inform the work.

Good work starts by paying attention to where we are and who is here.
We take time to learn from local stories, everyday practices, and existing relationships, and let that understanding guide what follows.

Together, we shape clear and respectful ways for people to be involved.

People engage more openly when the process feels clear and respectful.
We work with you to shape ways of working that are honest about what participation can influence and how decisions will be made.

Collectively, we create space for people to be heard.

Listening needs to continue as the work unfolds.
We stay in dialogue through the project, creating moments for people to share, reflect, and respond as things take shape.

We help bring what’s heard into the work as it develops.

What people share should visibly affect what’s being made.
We carry what we hear into the project and show how it informs direction, choices, and next steps.

We help you share outcomes and show how input shaped the work.

We take care to share outcomes, acknowledge contributions, and make clear how people’s time and insight shaped the result.

ARCHITECTURE

Our approach to architecture is informed by our belief that the cities and buildings we live in should be shaped by the ways we live, work, and play. What matters most to us is working in ways that respond to your needs, values, and aspirations. We design environmentally and socially considered buildings that can adapt over time as life circumstances change.

We help you understand the people, place, and context you want to build in.

Designing socially and environmentally and sustainable buildings begins with paying close attention to the context and culture of a place, in relation to the needs, values and aspirations of it’s future users.
We take time to learn how you work, live and play, information that guides responses to what has been already been built around your site, and environmental factors such as the path of the sun and prevalent wind directions.

We work with you to explore options that respond to context, budget, and regulatory frameworks.

We work with you to test ideas early in order to understand what is realistically achievable. Through feasibility studies, we assess opportunities and constraints related to site conditions, budget, and regulatory requirements, giving you a clear basis to make informed decisions. These early explorations supports informed decision-making and reduce risk as the project moves forward.

Together, we establish clear and considered pathways for turning ideas into built outcomes.

We prepare detailed drawings and coordinate input from relevant consultants to assess feasibility as the project evolves. This approach brings technical certainty and supports clear decision-making prior to construction.

We support you and the builder while the project is being built.

Our approach is always collaborative, working closely with the builder and wider team throughout construction. Our primary goal at this stage is to ensure the project moves smoothly and that we can collectively create an outcome we all feel proud of.

We remain connected with you as the building comes into use.

Our relationship with you continues after the building is complete. We remain available to support the transition into use and to respond to questions as you begin living or working in the space.

interior design

Our approach to interior design is grounded in the belief that the spaces we live, work, and play in should be shaped by how they are used on a daily basis, occupied, and experienced over time. What matters most to us is designing in ways that respond to your needs, values, and aspirations. We create environmentally and socially considered interiors that are adaptable, durable, and responsive to changing life circumstances.

We help you understand the existing circulation, light, ventilation, acoustics of your existing spaces.

Good interior design begins with understanding how spaces are used day to day. We take time to learn how you move through your home, workplace, or community space, how spaces are shared, and how light, materials, and existing conditions influence comfort, function, and atmosphere.

We work with you to explore options that respond to context, budget, and regulatory frameworks.

We test layouts, spatial arrangements, and material approaches early to understand what is realistically achievable. Through feasibility studies, we assess opportunities and constraints related to services, structure, budget, and approvals, giving you clarity before decisions are locked in.

Together, we establish clear and considered pathways for turning ideas into built outcomes.

We prepare detailed drawings, schedules, and specifications, and coordinate with relevant consultants, suppliers, and fabricators as the design evolves. This work resolves spatial, material, and technical considerations and supports confident decision-making prior to construction.

We support you and your contractor while the project is being built.

Our approach is collaborative, working closely with the builder, trades, and wider team throughout construction. We help answer questions, resolve details, and ensure finishes, fittings, and spatial relationships are realised with care.

We remain connected with you as the space comes into use.

Our relationship with you continues after completion. We remain available to support the transition into use, respond to questions, and help ensure the space functions well and ages gracefully over time.

exhibition

Storytelling has always been an important part of cultures across the world. Exhibitions play an important role in conveying ideas, sparking conversations, and creating connections. Our approach and methodology is designed around ensuring that the stories at the heart of an exhibition are treated with care and respect, and that the people whose experiences are represented feel the work is not simply about them, but created for and with them.

We take time to understand the stories, people, and intentions at the heart of the work.

Our work begins with deep listening. We work with you and those involved to understand the stories being shared, who they are for, and the care required in how they are told. We approach this work with the same respect and responsibility we would extend to our own siblings, aunties, uncles, and friends.

We explore how stories can take form within the space, budget, and resources available.

We work with you to test early ideas around layout, flow, and presentation, balancing ambition with practical realities such as budget, timelines, and technical constraints. This stage helps set clear expectations and establishes a direction that honours the stories being told while remaining achievable.

Together, we shape the exhibition so its story is clear, considered, and accessible.

We develop layouts, drawings, and content strategies that guide how people move through the exhibition and encounter its ideas. Throughout this process, we make considered decisions about materials, media, and fabrication methods to ensure the work can be delivered within agreed budgets and timeframes.

We stay closely involved as the work is brought to life.

We work alongside fabricators, installers, and collaborators to respond to questions and resolve details as the exhibition takes shape. This helps manage changes on site and ensures the final experience reflects both the original intent and the practical realities of delivery.

We remain connected as people begin to experience the work.

After the opening, we stay available to reflect on how the exhibition is received and to support adjustments where needed. This moment often informs future decisions, funding opportunities, and next steps that grow from the work.

public installations

Storytelling has long been central to cultures across the world, and monuments have often been used to fix particular stories in public space. We see public installations as an opportunity to expand what monuments can be, creating works that invite reflection, conversation, and connection rather than closure. Our approach is grounded in care and responsibility, ensuring the stories at the heart of an installation are treated with respect, and that the people whose experiences are represented feel the work is not simply about them, but created for and with them.

We take time to understand the stories, people, and culture of the place.

We take time to learn the histories, uses, and meanings attached to a site, and the communities who move through and care for it. This grounding ensures installations are shaped by their culture, context, and history.

We explore ideas that respond to context, budget, and the possibilities afforded by activations in public spaces.

We work with you to test early ideas and understand what is achievable. This stage brings together creative ambition and practical considerations, helping establish a clear direction before the work moves forward.

Together, we design installations that foster relationships, and legacies that make public spaces more equitable and inclusive.

We develop drawings and details that guide how the work is experienced, built, and maintained. Throughout this process, we refine how the installation activates space, supports interaction, and sits comfortably within its surroundings.

We stay closely involved through the processes of fabrication and installation.

We work collaboratively with fabricators, installers, and partners to respond to site conditions and resolve details as they arise.

We remain connected with you and the community as the work enters public life.

After installation, we stay available to reflect on how the work is received and to support adjustments where needed. This stage allows the installation to evolve and continue contributing to the life of the space over time.
